Sink was formed in 2004 in berlin. Though the music is improvised, Sink play, perform, sound and feel as a band with a distinct band sound. Their sound ranges from Berlin-typical echtzeitmusik related sound scapes which can, but need not, result in a minimalistic groove.
Sink have contributed a track on the 2 disc compilation album "Special Berlin Issue" on the label Improvised Music from Japan. They are busy mixing new recordings and are planning to release those.

Andrea Ermke
Andrea Ermke is a sound artist from the so-called Berlin scene. Self-tought, she has been working with a sampler, mini disc players and a mixing board since about 1997. She has developed a very personal and uncompromising style of collage.

She was member of the groups Guestar, Cox Orange and Organic and currently performs with Tree (w Chris Abrahams & Burkhard Beins) and Sink.
She contributed "fish in a box" to the compilation "labor CD" on the label charhizma. In 2006 her first solo CD "PIKE" was released on Zangi Music and she is featured on the freshly released 4-miniCD-R release "Berlin electronics" on Absinth Records.
Chris Abrahams
Chris was born in Oamaru, New Zealand and is currently living in Sydney, Australia.
In 1984 Chris recorded and released his first solo piano album - "Piano", followed in 1986 by "Walk".
He released a third solo piano album "Glow" in 2001. This was followed in 2003 by "Streaming", and "Thrown" in 2004.
In the late eighties he teamed up with Melanie Oxley and this has been an ongoing partnership that has produced four albums thus far – "Resisting Calm" (1988), "Welcome To Violet" (1992), "Coal" (1994) and "Jerusalem Bay2(1997).
Chris is perhaps best known for his work in the minimalist trio The Necks. The Necks was formed in 1987 and have produced 14 albums since. In recent years they have toured extensively both in Australia and Europe to considerable critical acclaim.
Chris has been a guest on many recording with numerous Australian bands such as The Triffids, The Laughing Clowns, The Apartments, Crow, The Church and Midnight Oil and The Whitlams.
Collaborations include, in both recording and performance, many contemporary improvising musicians including Burkhard Beins, Mike Cooper and Anthony Pateras. He performs regularly in the improvising music scenes both in Australia and Europe.
Marcello Busato
Marcello is a multi instrumentalist from Milano, Italy. He moved to Berlin in 2003 and since then became a prominent and in-demand member of the Berlin improvisation scene.

Arthur Rother
Arthur was born 1970 in Alkmaar, the Netherlands. He grew up in Holland and moved to Berlin in 1989.
Together with Andrea Neumann, Christian Kesten and Fernanda Farah he curates events at labor sonor since 2003.
Labor sonor is a lively meeting point for the Berlin underground music scene and is a platform for new developments in improvised and electronic music, with some references to new music, conceptual music, pop music and performance art.

"The next night was brilliant. Sink, a synth-sampler-guitar-drums quartet, did impress. Sitting at his Yahama DX7 synthesizer (“in terms of a live performer, he said in an interview, I’d say I’m a piano player and a fledgling DX7 player”), The Necks' key member Chris Abrahams did the minimum to impress though. Not at all portraying the common pianist-leader in a jazz band, he rather took the sidekick's role: most of the time he was choosing the one and only key his forefinger would be going to press for the next ten minutes. A band's alchemy is always obscure but one thing is sure: he was in good company. Guitarist Arthur Rother played sketches of melodies, soap bubbles of harmonies destined to inspire his partners. Wearing a silver sequin dress, Andrea Ermke suggested background soundtracks with a sampler and mini-discs full of field recordings that subtly gave a sonic frame, a sense of narration. Marcello Silvio Busato did a fantastic job, his skillful and imaginative drumming bringing new ideas, adding new sensations. It's hard to describe what kind of music they built and how they built it, but I'm pretty sure they achieved together what composers like Debussy were often aiming at: true musical exoticism, and without the usual ethnic elements. A real-time, contemplative description of an unmapped and mysterious country. Following Sink on stage, Perlonex (pictured) was a darker and more disruptive experience whose content might have narrated the frightening journey necessary to reach the quieter country Sink described before..."
